No. 35 – Photoshoot for Traveling Teacher Organization

Brian was in his photographer’s happy place when he lent a hand to Teacher Horizons, an organization connecting teachers and schools around the world. Given our love for travel, it seemed appropriate to contribute in some way to others’ international aspirations. Teacher Horizons finds certified teacher positions in schools around the globe and gives educators the opportunity to experience a new culture while improving the local education system.

For any teachers out there interested in trying something different for a couple years or school administrators in need of good educators, Teacher Horizons could be a great connection for you. We met two of the founders through Brian’s co-working space. Working with a team located around the world, Alex, Alexis and the local Cambodia staff establish relationships with schools in need of qualified teachers and recruit educators to commit to multi-year contracts. They were a great group of people with a true passion for the work they do. Don’t they look like a fun crew?

About the Author

Tracey Carisch

Mom, wife, friend and change agent traveling the world with my family to learn our place in it. After spending a career in organizational change management and community initiative implementation, I put my career on hold for our family's trip around the world. In April of 2014 we sold almost everything we own, put the rest in a storage container, and departed on this journey. While my husband continued his software development work to financially support our trip, I planned and documented our adventure, homeschooled our three daughters, and found volunteer work opportunities for us to do in the communities we visit. Now that we've returned to the U.S., I'm completing book about our family's adventure and our lessons learned.
